All of our clinical team have experience working in National & Specialist NHS Services. These are the ​​leading teams in the country who support young people with the most complex difficulties, or those who have not responded to the help offered within local services.

In addition to providing high-quality clinical care, National & Specialist services also conduct cutting-edge research, leading the way in the development of novel assessment techniques and mental health interventions.​

All of our clinicians have the highest level of training and are registered with the leading professional bodies.

Dr Matt Woolgar 

Before co-founding The Child Wellbeing Clinic, Dr Matt Woolgar was a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the National Conduct Problems Clinic and Adoption and Fostering Team, where he has worked for over 20 years. He is a nationally recognised expert in child behavioural problems, attachment, parenting, and the mental health needs of adopted and fostered children.

Dr Tom Cawthorne

Before co-founding The Child Wellbeing Clinic, Dr Tom Cawthorne was a Senior Clinical Psychologist registered with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). He also holds additional accreditations as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Mentalization-based therapist. Tom specialises in working with children, adolescents and their families, and is experienced in delivering a range of evidence-based psychological therapies.

Dr Holly Bemrose 

Dr. Holly Bemrose is a Clinical Psychologist and HCPC-registered practitioner specializing in working with children, young people, and their families facing a range of challenges. She has extensive experience in both NHS outpatient and hospital settings as well as the private sector. Currently, she also contributes her expertise to a CAMHS inpatient service for children up to 13 years old.

Dr Ria Pugh

Dr Ria Pugh is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with over 10 years of clinical experience in psychiatry. For the past six years, she has specialised in working with children, adolescents, and their families. She is registered with the General Medical Council and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr Pugh completed her psychiatric training at the Maudsley Hospital and continues to practise as an NHS consultant within the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Emma Trustam

Previously, Emma was a part-time Senior Clinical Psychologist for the National Adoption and Fostering (CAFT) team at the Michael Rutter Centre, providing specialist clinical psychology assessments and treatments to adopted and fostered young people. Her assessments focused on disentangling issues around attachment and trauma from neurodevelopmental presentations, as well as other common mental health disorders and behavioural issues.

Dr Cliona Brennan 

Dr Cliona Brennan is a registered dietitian specialising in child and adolescent eating disorders, with over eight years of experience in both NHS and private settings.

Hannah Creaven

Hannah is a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist with over a decade of experience in NHS Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder services. As a registered Mental Health Nurse and Systemic Family Practitioner, she possesses extensive expertise in providing family therapy for eating disorders.

Melissa Beacham

Melissa Beacham is an experienced health services manager  and administrator with over 15 years’ experience in the private healthcare sector and private practice management. Melissa is the first point of contact for our families and runs The Child Wellbeing Clinic Office.
