She creates a safe, nurturing and non-judgemental environment where young people can feel heard, understood and supported to make meaningful changes.
Shanay provides evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy tailored to each young person’s individual needs. She has experience supporting young people with a range of difficulties, including eating disorders, body-image concerns, generalised anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, panic disorder, trauma, depression, self-harm and phobias. Her work is informed by NICE guidelines and focuses on giving young people practical strategies they can use in their everyday lives.
She has particular experience supporting young people with eating disorders and perfectionism, as well as autistic young people and those with ADHD. Shanay thoughtfully adapts therapy using a range of techniques to make sessions accessible, engaging and relevant to each individual.
Where appropriate, Shanay also works collaboratively with the wider network around a young person, including families, schools, clinicians and social care professionals. She can offer consultation, practical guidance and risk-management planning to help ensure that young people receive consistent and coordinated support.
